Design is getting more refined, more elegant, more minimal. For some people, this might be why things get harder to use.
In the upcoming April Online Meetup by Perth Digital A11y Group, James Pritchard (co-founder of Alternative by Design and neurodivergent designer) makes the case that the enemy of accessible design lies in the pursuit of perfection. He will explore what people’s workarounds are really telling us, who gets to define what “nice” looks like, and why the features that get cut in the pursuit of elegance might exclude the people who need them most.
